A Dedicated Denial of Service or DDoS Attack is a malicious act where a hacker or cyber-criminal sends so much traffic at once in an effort to crash your website and/or overload your server to take them offline and therefore harm you and/or your business. This can be combined with other schemes like Ransomware, where they will demand a sum of money to be paid in digital currency (ex. BitCoin) in order to restore services for your business.
